About Me
I am an applied microeconomist pursuing my Ph.D. in economics at the University of Illinois Chicago.
My research interests are in the areas of health economics, the economics of unhealthy behaviors, and public finance. Recently, my research has focused on tobacco consumption and control policies and their impact on the economy and health outcomes. My job market paper is looking at the impact T21 laws have on maternal and infant health.
I am an experienced educator. I have taught courses related to applied microeconomics (i.e., health, labor, and sports), microeconomic principles, and mathematics. Before my doctoral studies, I taught various high school math courses ranging from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus BC. I occasionally assist with high school curricula.
In my free time, I love hanging out with my cats, Sophie and Alfredo, as well as enjoying activities like bowling and playing bocce ball. I also enjoy trying out new recipes I find on TikTok and other corners of the internet. This page features a gallery of my cats and highlights from other aspects of my personal life that I've shared.
